Chattaroy man arrested for DUI after hitting power pole

A 24-year-old Chattaroy man was arrested early Tuesday morning after hitting a power pole near Seven Mile.

A car was driving south on State Route 291 just after midnight when it crossed the center line and hit the pole, according to Washington State Patrol.

The car came back to the west side of the road and rolled into a field, according to WSP.

Scott D. Sullivan, the driver, was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane to be treated for his injuries.

A power line was down temporarily, according to WSP. Avista was not reporting power outages in the area as of 7 a.m.

Sullivan was charged with driving under the influence.
