Driver struck and killed by stolen car Saturday night in Spokane Valley, Sheriff’s Office says

A driver was killed Saturday night when their vehicle was struck by a reckless driver behind the wheel of a stolen car, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said.

The collision occurred just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Sprague Avenue and Park Road in Spokane Valley, according to a news release. A silver sedan ran at a red light after speeding through a nearby parking lot, striking another vehicle. That drive was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The person driving the sedan, which was reported stolen and did not have license plates, received life-threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Law enforcement did not release the name of the injured driver nor the driver killed.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash and asks anyone with information to contact Crime Check at (509) 456-2233, reference #10072703.
