Woman dies, man incurs life-threatening injuries after collision near Deer Park

A man driving a pick-up truck crashed into another driver after failing to stop at an intersection, causing serious injuries to himself and the death of the other driver, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s office.

Passersby gave CPR to the second driver, before fire and medical officials arrived at the Montgomery Road and Short Road intersection Thursday night around 9 p.m.

Fire and medical personel provided medical help to both drivers. Not long after, the second driver, a woman, was pronounced dead, according to a news release.

The man was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be serious and life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is still open, but officials said impairment and speed don’t seem to be factors leading to the collision.
