Pivoting the story again

In his letter to the editor on June 5 (“Rioting in America”), Dave McCann mentions that he doesn’t like it when Americans take videos of police. Laws in 38 U.S. states plainly allow citizens to openly film the police in public. Check yours.

McCann also uses the same playbook as practiced ineffectively by Donald Trump. Divide; don’t unite or bring people together to find common agreement; and never consider underlying issues and facts. This is the plan for our society’s destabilization and chaos.

What is there to support the claim that George Floyd’s murder “… is not a race issue” and is made up by “… news organizations?” This is Trump all over again. Does the writer also think the video which was taken by people standing right next to George Floyd as he was murdered was made up? We will see what the jurors decide when it’s played for them during the trial(s).

You won’t ever be able to stop opportunistic thugs from sneaking in among the law-abiding protesters until you first take actions that will make the law- abiding protesters never need to protest in the first place. Doesn’t this seem like common sense?
