Gonzaga’s Filip Petrusev is one of five finalists for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar center of the year award.
Petrusev is the third Bulldog in three days listed as an award finalist, joining Corey Kispert (Julius Erving small forward) and Killian Tillie (Karl Malone power forward).
Petrusev leads Gonzaga at 17.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. He’s posted nine 20-point scoring games, topped by a career-high 31 versus Santa Clara. He was named WCC player of the year earlier this week.
Other Abdul-Jabbar award finalists: Vernon Carey Jr. (Duke), Luka Garza (Iowa), Udoka Azubuike (Kansas) and Nathan Knight (William & Mary).
Former Zag Przemek Karnowski won the award in 2017.
