What’s Hoppin’ This Week: Area breweries ready to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is coming and many local breweries and beer bars are getting in on the fun with special events. Here is rundown of just a few Irish-themed events for you to enjoy – plus a few not related to St. Patrick’s.

Today

The Lucky You Lounge (1801 W. Sunset Blvd.) is celebrating the release of a new beer brewed by Iron Goat specifically for the venue. The Lucky You Pilsner will be available all night for $4 a pint, and live music will kick off at 9 p.m.

Thursday

For the Love of God Brewing (2617 W. Northwest Blvd.) is donating $1 from each pint sold from 4 p.m. until close to the Spokane Humane Society for its Brews for Bowser pint night. The event also will include a raffle and other fun stuff.

Friday

Westwood Brewing Co. (8162 W. Main St., Rathdrum) is celebrating all weekend long with food and drink specials, and it’s 11 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday.

Happy Trails to Brews (9025 N. Indian Trail Road) is bringing in Ellensburg’s Iron Horse Brewing to help celebrate from 2-11:30 p.m.

Dry Fly Distilling (1003 E. Trent Ave.) is partnering with local breweries YaYa and Humble Abode for an evening of live music and refreshment from 4-8p.m. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the nonprofit Live Like Laura Foundation.

Humble Abode Brewing (1620 E. Houston Ave.) is celebrating from 5-8 p.m. by releasing a new Dry Irish Stout on nitro, and Crate, a local food truck, will be on hand with Irish-themed food items available for purchase.

Saturday

Whistle Punk Brewing (122 S. Monroe St.) is opening early at 10 a.m. and will be tapping two new Irish-style beers, a stout and a red ale, throughout the day.

Brick West Brewing (1318 W. First Ave.) will be setting up an outdoor tent with live music, giveaways and green beer. They also will be serving Reuben sandwiches from the kitchen. 11 a.m.-midnight.

Black Label Brewing (19 W. Main Ave.) will be serving its popular espresso stout on regular and nitro taps and will have pinball and other games to keep you entertained. 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

Mountain Lakes Brewing (201 W. Riverside Ave.) is releasing the latest version of its Irish Spaceman Stout and will be offering drink specials, door prizes, raffles and other fun stuff throughout the evening from 3-9 p.m.

Hop Mountain Taproom (14017 N. Newport Highway) will be serving up several Irish beers, as well as Reuben sandwiches and Irish soup from noon-10 p.m.

Community Pint and Project Craft Brewing (120 E. Sprague Ave.) will be releasing two new hazy IPAs and bringing in Frankie’s BBQ and catering from 2-5 p.m. with a special Irish-themed food menu.

Tuesday

Millwood Brewing (9013 E. Frederick Ave.) is continuing its monthly beer dinner series with a five-course meal of traditional Irish favorites. Tickets are $35 and include dinner, plus beer pairings for each course. Tickets should be purchased online before the event that’s 6-8 p.m.
