Deputies seek help to connect elderly woman with caregivers

 (Spokane County Sheriff’s Office)

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has located the family of an elderly woman found wandering on a roadway on Wednesday.

The woman, who is in her 70s or 80s, told deputies her name was “Barbara.”

A passerby found her walking just before 8 a.m. with a can and a grocery bag on West Coulee Hite Road near North Brooks Road.

The woman seemed confused and disoriented, according to a sheriff’s office statement. The passerby brought her to Spokane County Fire Station 91, where firefighters provided her medical care. As a precaution they transported her to a local hospital.

Deputies contacted people in the area where she was found, and no one had any identifiable information.
