Man killed in Bonners Ferry shooting identified

The victim of a shooting in Bonners Ferry last week has been identified as 45-year-old Brian Drake.

Drake, a Kootenai County resident, was killed at 6811 Main Street just before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night.

The Bonners Ferry Police Department has yet to release details of the shooting but said Saturday that an extensive investigation is ongoing.

A person of interest was detained and questioned, but has been released, police said.

Police Chief Brian Zimmerman said in a statement that he believes the shooting to be intentional and not a random act.
