Philip Stanton, Park Lodge owner and chef, a charitable son amid COVID-19 pandemic, his mom says

This story pitch was in The Spokesman-Review’s email inbox for several newsroom journalists this morning, and it’s worth sharing as is:

I am a fellow journalist and government contractor from Washington, D.C. (most recently from the State Department), and I wanted to send you a good news story scoop!

My son, Philip Stanton, is the chef/owner of Park Lodge restaurant in Kendall Yards. Yesterday he distributed all his fresh produce to shelters and to people in quarantine. Today – right now – he’s preparing gallons of homemade chicken noodle soup to deliver to the shelters.

SEND a photographer over to Park Lodge right now and catch him in action!

Stay safe, Spokane. Your city has such a big heart and will take care of each other, I know.

Best,

So much love from a mother for her Spokane-based restaurateur son. A call to Stanton this morning confirmed the email, and he was a little embarrassed. Nonetheless, a Spokesman-Review photographer will be taking his photo this afternoon, as he prepares additional donations and deliveries, for an upcoming story.

Bravo, Stanton and Team Park Lodge, and more restaurants and chefs are doing the same throughout the city. Awesome! Stay tuned and, yes, stay safe.
