Plans are moving forward for Selkirk Pharma’s $30 million manufacturing facility on the West Plains.

The company, a contract manufacturing startup in the pharmaceutical industry, filed an environmental review for the project with the Washington state Department of Ecology last week.

The company intends to build a 65,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at 9110 W. Granite Ave. in the Pacific Northwest Technology Park, according to an application filed with the city of Spokane.

Construction is expected to begin in August and is slated for completion in December 2021, according to the environmental review.

Selkirk Pharma, which was founded in 2018 by a team of physicians and pharmaceutical leaders, manufactures and packages injectable drug products. The company has an office at 821 W. First Ave. in downtown Spokane.

More than 320 workers are expected to be employed at the facility upon completion, according to the environmental review.

Spokane-based Bernardo|Willis Architects is designing the project.
