Cold front brings high winds and snow rain mix

As a cold front moved into the Spokane area Monday with strong winds and a mix of rain and snow.
Snow showers are possible before 9 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a mix of rain and snow as temperatures rise to the mid-40s.
Surrounding mountains should receive receive fresh snow and light winds with occasional gusts to 24 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Some mountain passes could have several inches of snow.
Strong winds hit the Spokane region on Monday, but died down by late afternoon.
For Tuesday and Wednesday the weather will remain unsettled with a “threat of rain-snow mix,” said Jeff Cote of National Weather Service.
“As we go into the next few days we’re looking to below normal temperatures,” Cote said.
Those temperatures likely will be in the mid-40s over the next two days and hit the low-40s by Thursday, Cote said.
A thunderstorm is possible on Wednesday.
