Spokane police confirm 3 victims in Cannon Park shooting; no arrests as of Monday

UPDATED: Mon., May 4, 2020

Spokane police confirmed three people were injured in a Sunday afternoon shooting and continued looking for suspects on Monday.

The shooting occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday in Cannon Park in the West Central neighborhood. Officers took statements from multiple people but did not arrest anyone at the scene.

Officer John O’Brien, a police spokesman, said three people were injured in the shooting. The severity of their injuries was not immediately clear Monday afternoon, but O’Brien said none of the victims had died.

No arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon and detectives were “hoping to identify and locate suspects,” O’Brien said.

“There’s a lot of people they need to interview, multiple victims and a fairly large crime scene,” he said.

Police said anyone with information about the shooting should call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233 with the reference number 2020-20073292.
