Teenage girl stops South Hill car thief; police ask for help in finding thief

A 14-year-old girl chased down her parent’s vehicle on foot as a thief attempted to steal it last week.
Spokane police are looking for the thief in the attempted vehicle theft that happened on April 24 on the 3000 block of East 30th Avenue.
The girl’s father wasn’t home when she saw his red Ford F-150 being driven away from their apartment complex. The girl chased after the car and jumped in the bed of the moving truck, causing the suspect to stop the truck. He then got out of the truck and fled on foot.
The teen girl’s brother took a picture of the thief and the car that had dropped him off at the apartment complex before the suspect attempted to steal the truck.
Anyone with information on the suspect can call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233 and request their information be sent to police Detective Scott Haney.
