Nordstrom will not be closing its River Park Square store in downtown Spokane, the company has confirmed.

The Seattle-based company announced in a regulatory filing earlier this week it will permanently close 16 full-line stores nationwide to sustain operations amid the coronavirus pandemic and after.

Nordstrom, an anchor tenant at River Park Square, declined to comment Wednesday if the Spokane store was part of the planned closures.

River Park Square is owned by affiliates of the Cowles Co., which also publishes The Spokesman-Review.

Nordstrom is closing six stores in California, according to CNBC.

The remaining 10 closures include stores in Annapolis, Maryland; Broomfield, Colorado; Chandler, Arizona; Freehold, New Jersey; Happy Valley, Oregon; Hurst, Texas; Miami and Naples, Florida; Richmond, Virginia; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
