Someone shot through the walls of a Spokane Valley home in a drive-by, but no one was there

UPDATED: Wed., Nov. 11, 2020

Spokane Valley deputies responded to a reported drive-by shooting Tuesday but found the targeted house empty.

Tuesday around 10:20 p.m., Spokane Valley Deputies responded to reports of shots heard in the 7700 block of East Liberty Avenue , according to a Spokane County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies contacted neighbors in the area and found a house with what appeared to be several bullet holes in the walls. Concerned someone might be injured inside, deputies entered but found no one home, the release said.

Based on the initial information, the shooting “does not appear to be random,” the release said.

“There is no known threat to the public stemming from this incident,” Corporal Mark Gregory wrote in the release.

Major Crimes detectives are continuing the investigation, according to the release. Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233, reference number 10149788.
