Briefs for Saturday
At-home COVID-19 test kits are now available at Safeway and Albertsons pharmacies in Washington and Idaho.
The saliva tests – offered in partnership with Phosphorus Diagnostics – typically provide results via email or text within 72 hours after the laboratory receives the test, according to a company release.
The at-home COVID-19 test costs $139.
Pharmacists are unable to bill insurance directly for the test, but patients may be able to submit a receipt to their insurance companies for reimbursement, according to the release.
People wishing to take a test are asked to complete a short medical questionnaire at scheduletest.com. Safeway and Albertsons pharmacists will review and verify the information, and order a test. Patients will be notified when their test kit has shipped or is ready for pickup.
Safeway and Albertsons pharmacists will be available for questions regarding follow-up care after results are provided.
