The president should have perks!
I just had to respond to the front-page article, “Perks of the job” (Oct. 4).
Do you really think that the president of the most powerful country in the world shouldn’t be protected to the utmost?
Our president was out doing his job pretty much non-stop. Taking high risks, like a commander on the front lines with his troops. Not hiding in a bunker, afraid of his shadow.
Most of us are getting good medical treatments and should not begrudge the president’s care. Now the ones who work are helping our country, and the ones who are not are not an asset. To those who refuse to work, this world is not and will never be fair, if you keep blaming others for your own problems. Get off your butt and do something for yourself!
Do you want a leader of our country to be out fighting and leading us in these hard times, showing us courage and strength, giving us faith and hope with our morals and values, or do you want someone who has tried and failed to be a leader for 47 years, accomplished nothing, hiding in his basement and only worried about himself?
Do you really expect him to do the hard job of running this country and also dealing with the rest of the world?
If you really care for this great country of ours, then I need not tell you how you should vote.
May God bless you all, this president, and our great U.S.A.
