Patient in critical condition after South Hill shooting Sunday

One person was taken to Providence Sacred Heart in critical condition Sunday afternoon with a gunshot wound after a shooting on Spokane’s South Hill, according to public safety officials. 

Firefighters and medics from Spokane County Fire District 8 treated the patient after they were found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen on East 55th Avenue, according to a tweet from the firefighter’s union. 

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Sheriff’s deputies told KHQ they were looking for a suspect and will be at 55th Ave and Regal Street for some time investigating.
