The Spokane Daily Chronicle’s editorial page urged Spokane citizens to support the city’s Jewish community in the same spirit that the Jewish community has supported Spokane.

“This month, they will make an appeal for aid in constructing their new temple and community center,” the lead editorial said. “They have planned a midnight frolic to be held at a local theater. They want a large attendance. When the Jewish people of this city have been asked to help in civic, state and national enterprises, their response has been ready; they have come forth with material assistance. They gave liberally to the war funds and loans. Now the Jewish people have sent out a call. The public should not forget what these people have done for others here.”

From the polo beat: The Chronicle ran a photo of the Spokane Polo Club team and the Fort George Wright army team as they participated in their daily practice match.

The two teams were planning to square off in competition at Spokane’s Interstate Fair, and big crowds were expected to attend.
