Join me in voting for Staab

I have known Tracy Staab for over fifteen years. We first met as opposing counsel when I was an appellate prosecutor and she was the appellate attorney for the city public defender’s office. We were adversaries on many cases over the years before she left to pursue appellate work at the federal level. Despite having adverse positions, she was able to disagree without being disagreeable. This is a critical character trait for serving at the Court of Appeals where three-judge panels review hundreds of cases together to arrive at decisions that profoundly affect our community.

Although we were opposing counsel, I truly enjoyed working with Tracy, which too often cannot be said among attorneys in that position. Later, we served together as trial court judges at Spokane Municipal Court for nearly a decade. Experience matters, particularly at Court of Appeals. In addition to her appellate experience, Tracy’s experience as a trial judge will provide an important perspective.

Judge Tracy Staab is bright, diligent and cares deeply about our community. Judge Staab has been rated exceptionally well qualified by independent bar associations. In addition to having exemplary professional qualifications, she is a kind and exceptionally decent human being. I am fortunate to call Tracy Staab my friend in addition to colleague. Please join me in voting for Judge Tracy Staab for the Court of Appeals.
