The motorcyclist who died in a crash Saturday night has been identified as William Parks, 43.

Deputies responded shortly after 7 p.m., when the man crashed on Government Way near Greenwood Road in west Spokane, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies and medical personnel attempted to revive Parks, who had severe injuries, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Parks apparently was traveling south on Government Way when he failed to make a left turn, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He “laid the bike down” sideways and fell off. The bike continued sliding south and struck a vehicle parked in the driveway of a nearby home, the sheriff’s office said.

Parks died from blunt-force injuries, according to the Spokane County Medical Examiner. His death was ruled a vehicular accident.
