Monday: a night to celebrate a trio of woman

The last few years have been devoted, in large part, to women. Movies such as “She Said,” which opens Friday, honor the Me, Too movement as have any number of books, television shows, news reports and more.
And it will continue at 7 p.m. Monday at the Bing Crosby Theater when three prominent woman will be featured in a special Northwest Passages event titled Inland Northwest Women of the Year.
Spokane City Council member Betsy Wilkerson will act as host, heading a panel composed of Sen. Maria Cantwell , Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers and NASA astronaut Anne McClain .
Cantwell has served as a U.S. senator since 2000, the just-re-elected McMorris Rodgers has represented the Washington’s 5th Congressional District since 2005, and Army Lt. Col. McClain is one of 18 astronauts under consideration to go to the moon as part of NASA’s Artemis project.
According to the event’s press release, the three will discuss the “(development) of leaders and leadership skills in the next generations, the importance of mentorship, and the power of the commitment to community in overcoming political differences.”
Tickets to the events are $7. The doors will open at 5:30. Click here to purchase tickets onlin e.
