Brush fire near I-90 detours traffic at airport exit

A brush fire along Interstate 90 west of Spokane briefly blocked the off-ramp to Airway Heights and the Spokane International Airport.

Both lanes were reopened Friday evening.

The Washington State Department of Transportation reported about 3:30 p.m. Friday that a fire would delay traffic as a small smoke plume rose above I-90.

Firefighters responded and shortly after 5 p.m. traffic problems were resolved, according to WSDOT.
