Spokane Zephyr earn first win of spring season, blank Carolina Ascent

The Spokane Zephyr posted their first win of the spring season, beating Carolina Ascent 2-0 in USL Super League action in Charlotte on Saturday.

Ginger Fontenot scored in the 26th minute and Lena Silano followed with a goal seven minutes later as the Zephyr improved to 5-7-7 on the season.

Spokane keeper Hope Hisey, the league’s reigning goalie of the year, recorded five saves.
