Washington State uses second-half spark to top Delaware State 80-52

In the second half, however, the Cougars rediscovered the flow and rhythm that has characterized their wins so far this year. They pushed a five-point halftime edge to as much as 32 points, and they finished shooting a respectable 45 percent for the game, 27 of 60.

Q(B) & A: Four Washington State quarterbacks who’ve beat Washington relive their favorite Apple Cup memories

Ryan Leaf played in three Apple Cups and won his last one, in 1997. Alex Brink became the “Husky Killer” after defeating UW on three occasions – 2004, 2005 and 2007. Timm Rosenbach got it done on his third try, leading the Cougars to a 32-31 win in 1988. It took Jeff Tuel four attempts, but the last WSU QB to snare a win over the Huskies was responsible for a 31-28 overtime triumph in 2012.

The pick: Why Washington will beat Washington State

Last year UW won by 27. In 2016, by 28. In 2015, by 25 and in 2014, by 18. The Cougars will test the Huskies this time, I think. But will they beat them? I need to see it before I believe it.
