Kirk Triplett made a 12-foot eagle putt on the second hole of a playoff with Woody Austin to win the Hoag Classic for his seventh PGA Tour Champions victory.

Fran Quinn birdied three of the final holes in breezy conditions for a 4-under 67 and a three-stroke lead in the PGA Tour Champions’ Hoag Classic. Tied for the first-round lead with Scott McCarron after a 64 in strong wind Friday, Quinn rebounded from a bogey on the par-4 14th with birdies on the par-5 15th, par-3 17th and par-5 18th at Newport Beach Country Club.

Scott McCarron closed with a birdie in windy conditions for a 7-under 64 and a share of the first-round lead with Fran Quinn in the PGA Tour Champions’ windy Hoag Classic. McCarron rebounded from a bogey on the par-4 16th with the birdie on the par-5 18th at Newport Beach Country Club. Quinn finished with a bogey on the par-4 ninth.

Kenny Perry shot an 8-under 65 to take the Cologuard Classic lead, Mark O’Meara matched the PGA Tour Champions record with eight straight birdies in a 66, and former baseball star John Smoltz failed to build on a strong start in his tour debut. Smoltz birdied three of the first eight holes, then played the final 10 in 3 over for an even-par 73.

J.B. Holmes rallied from a four-shot deficit in the final round and won a marathon finish Sunday in the Genesis Open in Los Angeles for his first victory in three years and a trip back to the Masters.

Ken Tanigawa had six back-nine birdies in a 5-under 66 for a share of the Chubb Classic lead Saturday with Glen Day and Stephen Ames.

Playing partners Sandy Lyle and Stephen Ames matched the course record at 8-under 63 to share the first-round lead Friday in the PGA Tour Champions’ Chubb Classic. Lyle topped a leaderboard for the first time in 155 career starts on the 50-and-over tour. Ames had a hole-in-one with a 9-iron on the 141-yard 12th hole at The Classics at Lely Resort.

Bernhard Langer eagled the par-5 18th for a 4-under 68 and a one-stroke lead Saturday in the PGA Tour Champions’ Oasis Championship.

Jesper Parnevik shot a 9-under 63 in the Oasis Championship to take a one-stroke lead over Bernhard Langer. Parnevik had four straight birdies on Nos. 4-7 on his final nine on The Old Course at Broken Sound.

Adam Long made a 14-foot birdie putt on the final hole Sunday to win the Desert Classic for his first PGA Tour title.

David Toms shot his second straight 7-under 65 to take a four-stroke lead in the PGA Tour Champions’ season-opening Mitsubishi Electric Championship. The 52-year-old Toms had eight birdies and a bogey on another windy day at Hualalai.

Paul Goydos and Tim Petrovic shot 8-under 63 to share the lead in the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, leaving points leader Bernhard Langer seven strokes back in the PGA Tour Champions’ season finale. In sunny, 80-degree conditions at Phoenix Country Club, Langer parred the final nine holes for a 70.

Xander Schauffele gave the Americans a sweep of the World Golf Championships and quickly put a winless sophomore season behind him.

Jay Haas shot a 7-under 65 – missing his age by a stroke – to take a two-shot lead Saturday in the PGA Tour Champions’ playoff-opening Dominion Energy Charity Classic.

Bernhard Langer birdied three of the final four holes for a 5-under 67 and a share of the SAS Championship lead with Gene Sauers. A day after nearly shooting his age with a 62 to match Sauers and Tom Lehman for the first-round lead, the 61-year-old Langer kept pace with Sauers at 15-under 129.

Tom Lehman and Gene Sauers matched the 61-year-old Langer on the course that was dry enough to play after heavy rain from Hurricane Michael hit the area Thursday.

Hale Irwin shot a 5-under 67 at Pebble Beach in the Pure Insurance Championship, leaving the 73-year-old Hall of Famer a stroke behind leader David Frost in the PGA Tour Champions event. Irwin played his final nine holes in 6-under 26. He birdied the par-4 first, eagled the par-5 second and added birdies on the par-3 fifth, par-5 sixth and par-3 seventh.
