Accomplished photographer opens studio

Photographer Luba Wold of Post Falls has opened a new photography studio in the hills above Post Falls near Stateline, situated on 30 acres of forest full of prime spots for family and senior pictures. Wold specializes in wedding and family photographs, though she also does engagements, newborns, maternity and high school senior photos. She likes to sit down and get to know her subjects before she picks up a camera. “I go more in depth with all my people,” she said.

I-90 crash in Post Falls blocks eastbound lanes, sends three to hospital

A two-car crash on Interstate 90 in Post Falls on Tuesday shut down the eastbound lanes and sent three people to the hospital, according to an Idaho State Police news release. At about 12:30 p.m., 80-year-old Margaret J. Hyatt, of Nelson, British Columbia, was stopped in a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe on the shoulder of I-90 near Pleasantview Road. Hyatt moved into the eastbound lanes in front of a 2007 GMC Sierra driven by Sandra L. Bodak, 59, of Rathdrum.

Stranded hiker rescued by helicopter in Post Falls

A Spokane County Sheriff’s Office helicopter rescued a hiker in Q’emiln Park in Post Falls Friday afternoon after he suffered from heat exhaustion and couldn’t hike out. Kootenai County firefighters hiked to the man, but because of the difficulty of the terrain, they could not carry him out, said Capt. Seth Hohenstreet of Kootenai County Fire and Rescue. They called the Spokane Ccounty Sheriff’s Office to get a helicopter to assist.

Amway House denied rezoning request

The Amway House will not be allowed to be turned into an event venue or bed-and-breakfast any time soon, after the Post Falls Planning and Zoning Commission voted against a special use permit Tuesday night.
