Given how his senior season unfolded at Gonzaga, it may be surprising to some that Zach Gourde has constructed a lengthy, successful professional basketball career in France. As Gourde prepares to leave Spokane for his sixth pro season, he packs the satisfaction of rekindling his love for the game along with his faithful miniature Australian shepherd Riley and two suitcases of belongings that will sustain him for the next nine months overseas.

Ranch tour scheduled Sunday

The Sustainable Table's Eat Well Guided Tour of America makes two stops in this corner of the country this week. On Sunday, Nikki and Joe Eaton will host a tour of their ranch near Colton, Wash., where they raise natural grass-fed beef. The tour of Eaton's Natural Beef will be followed by dinner prepared by Nikki Woodland of Nectar, with a pie bake-off after dinner. The beef will be provided by the Eatons and there will be produce from local and organic growers, and Shepherd's Grain bread donated by the Moscow (Idaho) Food Co-op Bakery.
