Othello woman dies in crash after pursuit

A motorist apparently trying to flee after being caught lighting illegal fireworks near an Othello-area wheat field died Monday after being ejected from her car as it overturned. Two passengers survived with minor injuries. Brittney Almaguer, 20, of Othello, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:34 p.m. accident near the intersection of McKinney and Hatton roads west of Othello, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. She wasn’t wearing a seat belt, authorities said.
