Gonzaga, UCLA on track for 1 vs. 2 showdown in Las Vegas

No. 1 Gonzaga received 55 first-place votes from the media panel, the same number it received in the preseason poll. No. 2 UCLA received the other six-place votes, down two from the preseason rankings. It appears there were 61 voters compared to 63 in the preseason poll.

Gonzaga will begin the college basketball season precisely where it wants to end the season in April. The Zags were voted No. 1 in the preseason Associated Press poll released Monday. Gonzaga received 55 of 63 first-place votes from the media panel. No. 2 UCLA, which faces GU on Nov. 23 in Las Vegas, received the other eight votes.
