Eagles defeat PSU

The two-pronged attack of redshirt freshman Hayley Hodgins and senior Carrie Ojeda sparked the Eastern Washington women to their third straight Big Sky Conference victory, 68-56 at Portland State on Monday night. Hodgins scored a career-high 22 points, ignited by a 4-for-8 performance beyond the arc, and Ojeda put together her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds as the Eagles (10-8, 6-3 Big Sky) took over sole possession of third place.

The Eastern Washington women’s soccer team had five players recognized by the Big Sky Conference on Monday. Leading the Eagles’ contingent was senior forward Whitney Brannan, who was selected to the All-Big Sky second team. This is Brannan’s third postseason recognition. She was honorable mention in 2009 and 2010.
