Inmate says he was told to wash, reuse disposable catheters

An Idaho prison inmate says a doctor with the private medical care company Corizon Health told him to wash and reuse his disposable urinary catheters in a communal prison sink. Some inmate advocates say such complaints are common even though reusing the catheters can lead to health problems. The Idaho Department of Correction says the inmate’s claim is true. Corizon Health officials declined to speak about his case but say it’s their policy not to re-use disposable catheters.

Judge orders partial release of Idaho lethal injection docs

A judge has ordered the Idaho Department of Corrections to release some of the information that was redacted from thousands of pages of documents detailing the state’s execution preparations and procedures – including the name of one lethal injection drug provider – but prison officials may appeal the ruling.
