WSP: Morning crash caused by sleeping driver

The Washington State Patrol reports a Tuesday morning head-on collision occurred after Destinee Lake, 19, fell asleep at the wheel. Shannon Crewse, 56, was also injured in the collision.

One dead in six-vehicle crash

A six-vehicle crash on Highway 95 involving several semi trucks left one person dead this morning. The crash occurred about 8:40 a.m. near Cocolalla Creek, according to the Idaho State Police. James M. Mady, 49, of Creswell, Ore., was driving a semi truck when he was killed. Police say two were hospitalized after the chain-reaction crash: Zachary B. Henager, of Temple, Texas, who was driving a Mazda Coupe, and Richard D. Walston, 58, of Colville, who also was driving a semi truck. Mady’s semi trailer flipped onto its side and blocked all southbound lanes and the northbound passing lane. Henager was airlifted to Kootenai Medical Center and Walston was airlifted to Providence Holy Family Medical Center. Several others were uninjured: Brian M. Fendos, 39, of Bonners Ferry, who was in a semi truck; Pavlo P. Shevchuk, 21, of Manitoba, Can., who was towing a livestock trailer; and Roger C. House, 46, and his passenger Nathan C. House, 22, of Post Falls. At this time, Highway 95 has been completely blocked for 11 hours. Investigators would like to speak to the female driver of sports utility vehicle that was southbound near the location and witnessed the crash. That witness should contact Cpl. Woman attempting u-turn struck by semi

A Desmet woman was hospitalized today after attempting to make a u-turn and being struck by a semi truck about 4:40 p.m. on Highway 95 near Worley.

One injured in school bus accident

One person was injured in an accident involving a car and a school bus today about 4:16 p.m. at Perry Street and Baldwin Avenue.

Plummer pair hurt in U.S. 95 collision

An Idaho driver and her 12-year-old passenger were hurt on Thursday evening when another driver made a sudden u-turn on U.S. Highway 95 near the Coeur d’Alene Casino south of Coeur d’Alene.

Accident slows highway at Loon Lake

A one-vehicle collision at U.S. Highway 395 at Loon Lake is partially blocking the highway more than an hour after the injury crash occurred, state troopers reported.

Rollover injures two
