Musicfest to present best performers at Bing

This week student musicians and dancers from around the region have been performing for adjudicators at Musicfest Northwest. Tonight, the best will perform in the Festival Highlights concert at the Bing Crosby Theater.

Floating Crowbar lacks Irish blood, but not spirit

It’s the melodies that brought the members of Floating Crowbar to Irish music. The members meandered toward it, some taking decades to get serious about it. And coming together as a group took a while, too. It started with Rick Rubin and Don Thomsen as a duo. Morgan Andersen and James Hunter eventually joined, and they’ve been playing as a quartet for close to six years.

Spotlight: Revolutionary show set for Bing on Saturday

Area children can take a trip back to the Revolutionary War era on Saturday at the next KPBX Kids’ Concert. “Music From the Revolutionary War” will feature Robbin’s Rebels, a Spokane fife and drums corps, vocalist Tim Westerhaus and Jim Tevenan, who will do double duty as pianist and event host.
