Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc are under pressure to deliver Ferrari a much-needed win at the Monaco Grand Prix. After five races and no wins for either driver Ferrari’s hopes of ending the yearly dominance of Mercedes are already hanging by a thread. Vettel challenged for the title in the past two years but is already nearly 50 points behind Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton. His Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas is challenging him much more than Ferrari.

Ferrari continues to improve, Mercedes now looks vulnerable

While resurgent Ferrari continues to improve Mercedes is at a loss to explain the difference in performance between its two cars. Ferrari will start Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix with Kimi Raikkonen in pole position and championship leader Sebastian Vettel next to him. Although Valtteri Bottas qualified in third his teammate Lewis Hamilton was out of the top 10 after struggling with tires and car balance.

Returning Jenson Button will start last at Monaco GP

Jenson Button’s one-off return to Formula One at the Monaco Grand Prix is proving problematic. Even though the veteran British driver qualified in ninth place on Saturday he will start Sunday’s race from last. That is because his struggling McLaren team was forced to make an unscheduled change to the car’s power unit and incurred a 15-place grid penalty.
