Here’s what’s at stake as Air Force considers Fairchild to host new KC-46 tanker

Much has changed since the first KC-135s arrived at Fairchild in 1958, but the 65-year-old aircraft remains the backbone of the Air Force's aerial refueling operations. Today, Fairchild is the largest tanker base under the Air Force's Air Mobility Command, home to a fleet of 63 KC-135s shared by the 92nd and 141st Air Refueling Wings, the latter a unit of the Washington Air National Guard.

WASHINGTON – After a marathon session that began the previous afternoon, Senate Democrats approved a $3.5 trillion budget framework over universal GOP opposition early Wednesday morning. The new plan paves the way for legislation that would raise taxes on corporations and the richest Americans to fund an array of Democratic priorities, including combating climate change and making health care, child care and education more affordable.

Biden directs Pentagon to plan for mandatory COVID-19 vaccines

In a rebuke of Biden's annoucement, U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers called any effort to mandate a vaccine an overreach by the White House.  A spokesman confirmed that her criticism included mandatory COVID-19 vaccines for members of the military.
