Northwest Passages Virtual Forum: Kelly Susewind

Kelly Susewind, the director of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, answers questions from Eli Francovich, the Outdoors Editor of The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Washington. Fishing and hunting enthusiasts are angry about the decision to close fishing and hunting during the COVID-19 shutdown across the state, especially for those people who live in proximity to the forests and lakes where they recreate. Susewind said that surveys show well over half of the sports enthusiasts travel to other regions or from different states to participate in the sports and the desire to keep people from traveling was the impetus behind the restrictions.
