Richland Coach Weighs in on MLB

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL SENT A PROPOSAL TO THE PLAYERS TODAY THAT WOULD START THE SEASON ON JULY 19TH. THE PLAN CALLS FOR A 60-GAME SCHEDULE TAKING PLACE OVER A 70 DAY PERIOD WITH FULL PRO-RATED PAY, AND WOULD INCLUDE AN EXPANDED PLAYOFF FORMAT FOR THIS YEAR AND NEXT. MANFRED RELEASED A STATEMENT TODAY SAYING THE TWO MEN WORKED OUT A "FRAMEWORK THAT WE AGREED COULD FORM THE BASIS OF AN AGREEMENT. EVEN THOUGH A DEAL HASN'T BEEN MADE YET IT APPEARS THAT THIS PROPOSAL SHOWS SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS." THE PROPOSAL ALSO CALLS ON THE PLAYERS UNION TO AGREE TO WAIVE ANY POTENTIAL GRIEVANCES. MLB PLAYERS WERE EXPECTED TO EARN $4-BILLION THIS SEASON UNTIL THE CORONA VIRUS OUTBREAK BEGAN.
