NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: The City of Airway Heights City Council will be holding a Public Hearing on the Housing Chapter of the draft 2046 Comprehensive Plan.

Proposal Name: Housing Chapter - 2026 Periodic Update to the City of Airway Heights Comprehensive Plan

Ordinance Number(s): C-1130

Proposal: The City of Airway Heights is undertaking the state-mandated 2026 Periodic Update to its Comprehensive Plan, extending the planning horizon to 2046. This update builds on the City’s 2023 Comprehensive Plan and the May 2025 Middle Housing and Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) code amendment. The proposal also addresses all of the planning requirements under the Growth Management Act (GMA) including new state legislative requirements adopted since 2023. This hearing is a joint hearing with the City of Airway Heights City Council and the Washington State Department of Commerce to review the City’s Housing Chapter for compliance consistent with the voluntary compliance review process outlined within RCW 36.70A.835.
