Y purchase fits Expo vision

The Spokesman-Review

I heartily second Steve McNutt’s letter of March 31. I served on one of the advisory committees for Expo ’74, and Steve’s comments accurately reflect the visions of all of us. Many hoped the land north of the Spokane River would eventually be added to Riverfront Park, but it was “developed.”

The future impact of County Commissioners Mielke and Richard will likely positively affect millions more people over the next 20 years than all of the other property that could be purchased with these conservation funds.

A millionaires’ retreat in the middle of the most outstanding Spokane landmark doesn’t cut it.
