Pay leaves ratepayers cold
While a lady in a wheelchair and earning just over $600 per month has her gas turned off because Avista workers could not read the meter due to snow, the CEO earns a $2.2 million package. We should not blame the CEO; it’s the board of directors who set the pay guidelines, including the criteria for stock awards and cash incentives (wow).
Be sure next winter to keep your gas meter free of snow; this could happen to you.
