After seeing the June 16 headline “Logging a win,” all I could think of was: what a joke.

Being born and raised in this area and watching all our sawmills and good middle-class jobs go away, I’m wondering why aren’t we selling finished lumber to China and Japan like they would be doing to us. Selling them the raw product only helps some people, but what about all the people laid off and all our sawmills shut down?

It’s about time America got its act together and protected our middle-class jobs. Let’s sell them lumber, not logs.
