Let tribe compete

I believe there is a small group of wannabe leaders of the Airway Heights area that are making claims of negative issues that are being blown out of proportion. It is so easy to pull the wool over someone’s eyes with false statements that don’t have the facts to support them.

If the wannabes took the time to research the facts they might find that the process that the Spokane Tribe is going through is very precise in addressing all possible concerns. Also, the wannabes must not understand what sovereignty is or what it means.

The Spokane Tribe’s sovereignty gives them the ability to pursue what is best for the tribal membership, the same way that the state of Washington does, and the same way the federal government does.

If the wannabes were so smart, why aren’t they thinking of other possibilities that the tribe could pursue that could be a lot worse: solid waste dump, mustang ranch for the troops, pig farm, or a chicken farm, to name a few. Just trying to make a point!

There could be something a lot worse than the casino.

Another point! What happened to the all-American way that “competition is good”?
