For years, America’s left-wing media have gushed over communist thugs, murderers, tyrants and terrorists like Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, Mao Zedong, Josef Stalin and Nelson Mandela. Now, they’re heaping accolades on communist Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap (“Storied Vietnamese general is 100,” Spokesman-Review, Aug. 25).

After World War II, several German and Japanese military officers were hanged for war crimes. Likewise, Gen. Giap is a war criminal who should be tried for war crimes and atrocities.

The article claims that Giap “wore down” the U.S. military, “forcing” them out of South Vietnam. Revisionism aside, the U.S. military was worn down by thousands of treasonous pro-communist Americans who were giving aid and comfort to the North Vietnamese invaders.

Tragically, those same treasonous Americans “captured” the Democratic Party after the Vietnam War, and we’re continuing to see their vile machinations to this very day.
