Fairchild hit would hurt

To those that are supporting the construction of a casino in Airway Heights, allow me to give you a hypothetical scenario. Let’s assume that casino is built. Let’s assume it creates all the jobs necessary to run a successful casino. Now, also assume BRAC is reviewing military bases to determine those that should remain open and those that should be closed. Let’s next assume they determine Fairchild Air Force Base should be closed due to the encroachment problem caused by the casino in Airway Heights.

That may not impact the jobs at the Airway Heights casino, but obviously not only would it impact the jobs and related jobs at Fairchild but cause a major economic “hit” to Spokane in general.

Think about it.
