I first attended Gonzaga University way back in the fall of 1954. Yep, I’m an old-timer. Most of the things you bought were stamped “Made in the U.S.A.” Then, as now, the university represented the best in academics and sports programs. The Bulldogs, a home-grown basketball team, are known from shore to shore. True Americana.

Now, wouldn’t you think one could go to the clothing store on campus and buy “Made in the U.S.A.” articles of clothing? Not! I recently purchased two sweatshirts there and, to my horror, noticed one was made in El Salvador, the other in Vietnam. Would it be wrong to think that Gonzaga would support the regional or national economy?

The Black Robes need to get their act together and support the people that got them where they are today! Maybe this old-timer is a little old-fashioned?
