Stop Girl Scout tax
OK, Idaho legislators, here are the needed statistics. The Girl Scouts will lose 6 percent of their revenue, or approximately $140,000, to pay sales tax for their cookie sales. The state will receive $140,000 in revenue, which represents .0005 percent of its $2.7 billion budget.
Some Girl Scouts will lose opportunities to go to camp, belong to Girl Scouts, or receive badges and sashes, but the state needs the revenue. Idaho and Hawaii are the only two states taxing Girl Scout cookie sales.
I’m curious why the Girl Scouts need to lobby such a no-brainer.
