Wolf report even-handed

I commend you and your reporters for the balanced July 14 articles on wolves. I have followed this subject on the West Side for over a year, and coverage was typically one-sided.

I side with the folks who have to contend with them. I have never seen a wolf. I raised a Siberian-Malamute cross some generations removed and saw (and guarded against) the wolf, and yet enjoyed the intelligence and character (another story).

I have been waiting for wolves to populate west of the Cascade Mountains, and the REI-clad folks to come to grips with this fight-to-the-death neighbor. I suggest that, when practical, wolves in Eastern Washington be transported west of the Cascades. They will put more effort into them and be more forgiving.

Your point that the most supportive have the least contact tells it all.
