GOP rejects common good

Abraham Lincoln. Theodore Roosevelt. Dwight Eisenhower. To paraphrase Henry Adams: The progress of the Republican Party from these leaders to the present Republican leaders and members of Congress is sufficient to disprove the theories of evolutionary progress and of intelligent design.

The U.S. Constitution established our current form of government to promote the common welfare. Congressional Republicans have rejected the common good in favor of their own shortsighted ideology. Power for their narrowly defined party is more important to them than the good of their country and of American citizens who need, and have been promised, affordable health care.

Obamacare was passed by Congress, signed by the president and upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court. Obamacare is not the problem; congressional Republicans are the problem.
