Kudos, Veterans Home

Until today, I hadn’t visited the Spokane Veterans Home since its dedication in 2003. Because I have a stroke-patient-veteran friend of more than 50 years who has been residing there for the past month, I had occasion to observe the high quality staff and administrators, particularly the therapists, who work tirelessly attending to the day-to-day needs of our in-resident veteran population.

The only Veterans Home in Eastern Washington, it serves the needs of veterans’ health care in a sanitary, warm and loving environment. My friend, with proper care and therapy, is making such remarkable progress that he vows to one day walk out of the Spokane Veterans’ Home, due largely to his Marine fighting spirit, but perhaps more importantly, to the encouragement and care he’s received there.

Spokane should be proud that this fine facility exists for the benefit of our deserving veterans, their families and loved ones.
